ABOUT THE LANSDOWNE CONE

The Lansdowne Cone was founded in Bloordale, at the corner of Lansdowne and Bloor,  in 2011 by two best friends: one budding entrepreneur, and one son of the Maypole Ice cream family, both in university and looking to do something different with their summers. After a couple successful years, they were ready to move on.

In 2014, it was purchased by Denise Soueidan-O'Leary who saw an opportunity to use the parlour as a lever of community wealth to empower youth with barriers to employment in a supportive community setting.

The Lansdowne Cone is a purpose-driven social enterprise: We empower youth with social, economic, and developmental barriers to employment by creating training and job opportunities in a supportive, community-based environment. We ensure that everyone has the opportunity to be a productive part of their community through inclusion, support, and active engagement.

We source local, we support local.

The Lansdowne Cone became a proud social enterprise in Regent Park in 2020, providing fun, good times, inclusive space, and (most importantly) fabulous ice cream!
